TALKING ABOUT GROTTINI, RETAIL AND ENVIRONMENTS
The historic Japanese designer passed away in early October at the age of 81 during Paris Fashion Week. Five days later the fashion house he founded staged his latest show.
A farewell to Kenzo, as big and joyful as his art has always been.
Born on February 27, 1939 in Himeji, near Osaka, the fifth of seven children, Kenzo Takada showed precocious skill and passion for drawing and sewing, which he learned from his sisters. He later attended Tokyo's Bunka Gakuen fashion school.
He arrived in Paris for the first time in 1965 and in the 1980s he launched his first men's clothing collection and the first “Kenzo Kenzo” perfume.
His creations with jungle prints and references to nature are how Kenzo interprets flower power. Traditional Japanese illustrations and shapes combined with a more metropolitan style have infused colour and a poetic lightness into the world of fashion.
A great designer who added to the history of fashion and design with the most beautiful colours.
Have a good trip Takada-San !
