The 2009 Congress programme has focused on urging issues such as the challenge of trading through the negative conjuncture and market uncertainties, and also how to drive growth in international markets, science behind innovation, e-commerce, the changing consumer and maximising business efficiencies. The Congress has developed also over lots of discussions concerning the struggle to secure capital, the "new realities" of operating in markets like China or India and the forecast about the new possible emerging markets of the future.
Most retailers seem to think waters are not so clear and still yet… but they’re all hoping for light at the end of the tunnel.
Since industry has to act in order to find and grab key talents and to invest in education programmes, the Congress has offered a particular initiative: the innovative Retail Futures Challenge, showcasing future talent from all around the world, eager to win this prestigious competition.
