Presented by the Association for Retail Environments, Shoptalk 2009 has recently opened its doors, welcoming all major and most renowned players, actors and experts in the Retail industry; an exclusive event not to be missed by all visual merchandisers, store planners and designers. Adding to the prestige was the presence of Grottini Retail Environments as the event's platinum sponsor.
The Shoptalk series fall schedule sees four venues: San Francisco, Dallas, Toronto and, for the first time this year, Columbus, OH.
Shoptalks just opened its doors at Nordstrom San Francisco, last September the 17th. A great start, boasting prominent presences, as one of the speakers Kate Newlin, author of the newly released book "Passion Brands” and main owner of the Kate Newlin Consulting, where she works with Fortune 100 and entrepreneurial firms. A sparkling career consulting with great business realities such as Procter & Gamble, Kraft Johnson & Johnson, WeightWatchers. San Francisco retail hosts include Shawn Thrapp, Nordstrom; Michael Trowbridge, Gap Inc.; and Paul Loux, Sephora.
Second venue is Columbus, OH, on October 1, at Limited Brands, always with speaker Kate Newlin. Retail hosts include Bob Waddell, Limited Brands.
Then comes Dallas event, October the 15th at Neiman Marcus with Ken Downing as speaker; Senior Vice President and Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus, he joined Neiman Marcus Stores having then a rapid and successful career. Previously Downing worked in visual merchandising at I. Magnin. Dallas Shoptalk retail hosts include Ignaz Gorischek, Neiman Marcus; Peggy Doughty, The Container Store; Jeanne Solitare, JCPenney; James Francois, JCPenney; Brenda Houston; and Greg Hill, RadioShack.
And the Shoptalk series ends on October 22, in Toronto’s Hudson's Bay Co. having again Kate Newlin as speaker. Retail hosts include Richard Hamori and Ted Wilson, HBC; Mary Ferri, Bell Canada; Jackie Bonic, LCBO; David Hicks, Canadian Tire.
