A.R.E. Design Awards

December 15th, 2011 was the deadline to compete for the coveted A.R.E. Design Awards 2012. The awards are under the auspices of The Association for Retail Environments, with Grottini Retail Environments among its partners. Since 1971, the A.R.E. Design Awards program has been recognized as the most prestigious retail design awards with the widest exposure and visibility. Retailers, designers, and architects will all compete with their projects issued over the last year, which will be subject to evaluation based upon excellence in design, originality in the use of space and materials and quality of execution of the concept on the whole.

Prepare for a rich program of special events and awards, including the A.R.E. Sustainability Awards, the only competition wholly dedicated to sustainable retail design. Particular attention goes also to the DDI Markopoulos Award; each year DDI magazine presents this award to only one outstanding individual of vision and influence in our industry.

The very special recognition of the Markopoulos Award, was inspired by the legend of visual merchandising and retail genius Andrew Markopoulos. Nominees are selected on the basis of their successful career and lifetime contribution to the field of visual merchandising and store design.
