The annual list of 2020's most interesting toys to give for Christmas, which is compiled every year by Walmart, is an interesting indication of how the pandemic has changed the face of retail.
The list is based on a jury of exceptional testers: children. Unlike in previous years, the little testers in 2020 were able to try the toys out directly in their homes. After a careful playful coexistence, the jury has drawn up a list of 36 toys ranging from high-tech gadgets to scooters. Of these, 15 items are exclusive to Walmart.

“This year's toy list reflects the change we've seen in gaming trends and behaviors,”, said Steve Ronchetto, Walmart's vice president of Toys. Toys have played a fundamental role in the lives of families who have spent more time at home in 2020. Parents have in fact sought different ways to involve children with learning-based games. There have therefore been toys based on digital platforms, such as toys created by children's influencers, interactive and educational toys, indoor entertainment without a screen, and toys for active outdoor play.
