TALKING ABOUT GROTTINI, RETAIL AND ENVIRONMENTS
Last year Google announced the launch of free WiFi hotspots in Indian railway stations to allow everyone, travelers, locals, and people just passing through, to connect to the network for free. The "Google Station" project, realized with the collaboration of the operator "Railtel" and the railway company "Indian Railways" was a great success.
Starting with Mumbai, Google Wifi is now available in 52 Indian stations, providing internet access to about 3.5 million users per month. It is estimated that at least 15,000 of these users are surfing the net every month on the network for the first time.
After the great success in India, Google plans to expand the "Google Station" project in the world. Through the official website (station.google.com), the company is already collecting signatures of telephone operators, restaurants, clubs and shopping centers interested in joining the project. Hotspots can be made available to users for free with advertising space or for a fee.
