And after Black Friday it's Christmas time ... all the windows of the most important stores in the world light up and greet the opening of the Christmas shopping season with unique set-ups.
On a journey that starts from New York, passing through Toronto and lands in Paris and London, we take you for a walk through the most beautiful windows for Christmas 2017.
1. Saks Fifth Avenue
The fourteen Sacks windows on Fifth Avenue will take you into a fairy-tale world. The theme of this year celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Disney feature "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", through detailed reconstructions of the scenes of the film. Creatures of the woods, the seven dwarfs who sing their famous "Ih Oh" in a crystal cave and the revisits of the Snow White’s dress made by international designers such as Alberta Ferretti, Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa.
2. Macy’s
Always staying in New York, we move into Macy's that this year chose the theme The Perfect Gift Brings People Together. Each showcase becomes a Christmas story/tale and the joy of sharing the holidays with friends and family in an atmosphere that warms the heart.
3. Galeries Lafayette Haussmann
We move now to Europe in Paris to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann who have chosen the Spectacular Spectacular theme. With the aim to reawaken the child within each of us, the atmosphere of an ancient Christmas fair has been recreated between amusement parks, circus attractions and shows of all kinds. The gigantic Christmas tree decorated with colorful balloons and sweets is set up as always under the dome.
4. Harrods
Christmas by Harrods takes shape thanks to the Italian stylists Dolce & Gabbana who with their eclectic touch have dressed the windows with 14 different themes. A journey through different settings: from the watchmaker's workshop to the tailor's shop, from the dance floor to a family party that ends with the traditional opening of gifts on December 25th.
5. Hudson’s Bay
For years, Hudson's Bay has celebrated an old-fashioned Christmas through its windows, but for 2017 it has chosen the theme of snow globes. Each showcase becomes a journey into the muffled and magical atmosphere of the snow globe with different representations and landscapes: from the woods inhabited by magical animals to the views of Toronto and the house of Santa Claus.
