New Casa Italia lounge at Rome Fiumicino

With the opening of the new boarding area E of the Leonardo da Vinci airport of Rome Fiumicino, dedicated to medium and long-haul flights to non-Schengen destinations, Alitalia has set up a new space to welcome its passengers and accompany them to the interior of a travel experience aimed at the highest levels of comfort, harmony and efficiency.

The interior design of the project, which continues in the wake of previous achievements for Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa, was conceived by the well-known Italian architect Marco Piva. The inspiration is that of the typical hospitality of Italian lifestyle, created through a fascinating environment with a strong personality, sophisticated and decisive but, at the same time, familiar as only an Italian house is capable of being when it offers hospitality.

Grottini Retail Environments has reconfirmed its role as a partner in the project, as in the realization of the other national Flagship Lounge, supporting all technical and executive aspects, collaborating with the excellence of Made in Italy manufacturing, and working with natural and precious materials such as Titanium Travertine, aluminum, and the finest grain leather, to name a few examples.

"Everyone tells us that we see a fresh, renewed, aggressive Alitalia on the market. This is the last piece demonstrating the fact that Alitalia is paying attention to the customer", says Fabio Lazzerini, Alitalia's chief commercial officer, continuing: "Italianness is the raw material and commercially it works."

The new "departure lounge" of Casa Alitalia, distributed over 1000 square meters and 158 seats, has organized the rooms according to functional studies, offering refined and welcoming spaces for refreshment, with thematic areas such as the wine cellar, the live show-cooking area, the bar area, an area dedicated to children, and other businesses, with all the facilities necessary for travel breaks and guests' needs.

The new lounge, in addition to meeting functional needs, fully reflects the spirit of refinement and an efficiency which is recognized by the Italian and international clientele of the airline.
