Traditional stores continue to evolve
in many ways and more and more retailers use physical space
to experiment with technology
, location dimensions or customer services. Many brands in 2018 have chosen a downsizing
by announcing plans to open small-format stores, this to meet the needs of urban buyers
, as in the case of Ikea, or even to create community-led spaces for customers
, as in the case of Nike with its NikePlus members. All this only increases the use of mobile technology in stores, including in-store pick-ups and the possibility to book products online.
But there are also those who have tested their brick-and-mortar experimentation on the design and the customer experience.
In 2019 the trend will continue to go in this direction to get closer and more attentive
to the daily life of its customers.
